Covid information for balloon flights 2022

Updated 30th April 2022.

Please read the following carefully before taking to the skies in one of our beautiful hot air balloons.

You MUST wear a face mask provided by yourself that covers your mouth and nose while in the balloon basket. Our pilots will have some spare masks for those who forget, but these will be limited in number and you will not be able to fly without one.

The balloon can sometimes fly a long way, depending on the speed of the wind on the day and the journey back will be in a vehicle full to capacity and could be 45 minutes or longer. You may be required to wear a mask during this journey depending on the provider we are using.

Please cancel your flight date booking with not less than 5 days’ notice before the flight date if you are not prepared to adhere to our control measures outlined above.

If you are exempt from wearing a face mask please contact our office by email at least 5 days before your flight so that we can discuss the matter.

Please note, for the champagne toast we will, as we did in 2021, use recyclable cups make from plant based materials rather than our silver plated goblets used pre covid.

See https://www.vegware.com/uk/catalogue/cold_cups/ for details.

If you think you have COVID

If you want to cancel from a flight at less than our normal 5 days’ notice for reasons relating to COVID-19, you must email us at [email protected] and title the email "COVID-19 CANCELLATION" so that our staff can see it clearly and respond to you as quickly as possible. A message left on an out of hours answering machine is not acceptable.

If you don’t let us know before your flight, you must email us within 24 hours of the time of the flight you should have been on or your vouchers will become void. In these circumstances you must provide medical documentation by email as proof of your positive status in order to revalidate your voucher.

Please remember that Government advice and regulations may change at any time resulting in the cessation of passenger balloon flights. So all of the above is subject to change as we work through the new Covid "Normal".

Finally

We hope that it has given you a better understanding of the various elements of your balloon experience. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Let’s all use our common sense to stay safe and we look forward to meeting you to embark on an exciting adventure in the skies.

If you have any further questions about your forthcoming balloon flight relating to COVID-19, please email [email protected] and we will be pleased to help you.
