When you land a hot air balloon ride it is often the case that you may not have landed at the location before so you do not know the landowner or indeed what sort of reception you might get. Usually it is positive but on a recent hot air balloon flight over Surrey we had one of the most amazing receptions ever. Our balloon landed gently in a large short grass field and within a few minutes the landowner came out in his Land Rover to great us and then invited us all to view his classic car museum. What a delight. As soon as the passengers and our crew had packed the balloon away into it’s bag we were shown into a large building full of an incredible mixture of modern and old cars. Our passengers toured around with champagne in their hands, what a way to end a balloon flight. And thanks to Joanna Neyland for all the pictures including the eco house we flew over on the way.
