Give a balloonist a river or a large lake on their flight track and inevitably you may see them gently descend until the balloon’s reflection can be seen on the water surface. On a recent flight over Oxford one of our balloons did a low level pass over the Thames (or the Isis perhaps if you are local!) and on another occasion another of our balloons was becalmed in light winds and had to land inches away from the edge of a lake.
