Lindstrand Balloons partnership

Adventure Balloons are now a Technical Partner with Lindstrand Balloons www.lindstrand.co.uk and exclusively use equipment made by Lindstrand Balloons.

Celebrating 20 years of one of the most technically significant hot air balloon flight customer/supplier relationships in the UK, Simon Forse and Kim Hull first met at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta in 1987. Both had aeronautical research and manufacturing backgrounds and when Simon went on to work for Per Lindstrand at Thunder and Colt balloons in 19…. Kim soon became a customer.

Since then over a dozen ideas have come from this fertile relationship, from s, passenger seats, pilot security systems, deflation systems etc.

Simon worked on all of the attempts by Per Lindstrand and Richard Branson to fly around the world on their Virgin Balloon Flights and has a wealth of technical knowledge of balloon rides design.

“We know that Lindstrand Balloons design some of the best passenger balloon flights equipment in the world today, and that is due to customers like Kim and his team at Adventure Balloons giving us feedback on how the product works in the field and helping further improve the product” says Simon Forse, now Managing Director of Lindstrand Balloons, based in Oswestry, Shropshire.

“In the early 90’s we already had large balloons flying overseas. Adventure Balloons was the first company to fly balloons of this size in the UK, and this gave us much better feedback on the product compared with say Kenya, which at the time was not an easy place to contact before the advent of modern communications such as e-mail”

“We get tremendous satisfaction working with Lindstrand Balloons because they listen to what we suggest and with my engineering background I love trying to see how we can use our experience to make the product better” says Kim Hull, who has just taken delivery of a new Lindstrand basket bristling with the results of this exchange.
